SWEDISH MASSAGEFee: 60 min / $70 90 min / $110 Swedish massage is the most common form of massage therapy in the United States. Massage therapy improves circulation by bringing oxygen and other nutrients to body tissues. It relieves muscle tension and pain, increases flexibility and mobility, and helps clear lactic acid and other waste, which reduces pain and stiffness in muscles and joints. People get massage therapy for relaxation or for a variety of health conditions: Back pain, neck pain Inflammatory conditions such as arthritis and tendonitis Stress relief and stress-related conditions Headaches and migraines Muscle and related conditions such as spasms, strains and sprains Repetitive strain injury, such as carpal tunnel syndrome Post-injury and post surgical rehabilitation Register for a Swedish Massage

THAI MASSAGE (This class is not yet offered)Fee: 60 min / $95 90 min / $130 Thai massage is also called Thai yoga massage, because the therapist uses her hands, knees, legs, and feet to move you into a series of yoga-like stretches. Many people say Thai massage is like doing yoga without any work. Muscle compression, joint mobilization, and acupressure are also used during treatment. People describe Thai massage as both relaxing and energizing. Traditional Thai massage is usually done on a padded mat on the floor. If you are unable to get on and off the floor your therapist can modify your session and work on a massage table. No oil is applied, so you are fully dressed. You are usually asked to bring or wear comfortable clothing to the massage. A typical Thai massage is 90 minutes to two hours long. Many people find that Thai massage has the following benefits: Relaxes Reduces stress Improves circulation Increases energy Increases flexibility Improves range of motion Centers the mind and body |
DEEP TISSUE MASSAGEFee: 60 min / $90 90 min / $130 Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders. Some of the same strokes are used as classic massage therapy, but the movement is slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain. When there is chronic muscle tension or injury, there are usually adhesions (bands of painful, rigid tissue) in muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Adhesions can block circulation and cause pain, limited movement, and inflammation. Deep tissue massage works by physically breaking down these adhesions to relieve pain and restore normal movement. To do this, the massage therapist often uses direct deep pressure or friction applied across the grain of the muscles. Unlike classic massage therapy, which is used for relaxation, deep tissue massage usually focuses on a specific problem, such as: Chronic pain Limited mobility Recovery from injuries (e.g. whiplash, falls, sports injury) Repetitive strain injury, such as carpal tunnel syndrome Postural problems Osteoarthritis pain Fibromyalgia Muscle tension or spasm Register for Deep Tissue Massage |
